Yum. Intended to go to Seva. Then I remembered they had moved and JG had moved in. Great food. Great service. Great prices. These folks have gutted the former Seva and replaced it with a clean fresh environment. Food is excellent.

Jerusalem Garden is a bit cramped and the table space is limited, but the food is absolutely delicious. We ordered the Vegetarian Grape Leaf Plate, Hummus (served with pita bread), Lentil Soup, and Falafel with Baba Ganoug. I did not particularly enjoy the grape leaves as it is made with currants, but the hummus was fantastic! Thick, creamy, and perfectly tangy with fresh lemons, it was the perfect complement to the thin slices of pita bread. The Lentil Soup was wonderful, and the falafel was phenomenal, wrapped in thin pita bread, with tomatoes, lettuce, a white sauce and a most delicious Baba Ganoug. I highly recommend Jerusalem Garden and would love to dine here again.

The new space on E Liberty is clean, airy, well-lit and welcoming. Food is as good as it was in the smaller space. Highly recommend my two faves, the Kafta Kebob sandwich (I add in falafel and fattoush) and the Chicken Shwarma sandwich (with the same add ins). The yogurt garlic sauce is delicious, but potent, so beware getting up close and personal afterwards :) The pistachio baklava is heavenly. I try to limit myself to one piece, but I'm often not successful and end up eating two. Great place especially if you're dining solo. At the barstools you can watch all the action in the open kitchen. Recommend for a casual, delicious meal.

Best Humus in town! Yes Dearborn is the place but this is the best we have in town that is amazingly done. Great service and great overall food!

I really like Jerusalem Garden, especially for a quick carryout. $11 gets you a generous amount of chicken shawarma and hummus with a side of rice and a soup or salad. For a college student it's a great deal and a great stretch of your money. I really liked the old, smaller location, but they did well with the expansion. The service is always great - they have a very friendly staff. My only complaint would be my last visit. I felt the portion of chicken was a bit smaller than usual which was a slight disappointment, but overall, the positives outweigh the negatives.

This place is a total institution. Admittedly, I hadn't been here in probably 12, 13 years -- I had other shit to do, you know? Moving back to the midwest, floating from Chicago to Detroit to visit some family, the hunger struck me and mine as we were on I-94 nearing Ann Arbor. Lunch in Ann Arbor? Yes, please (and thank you). Acting like I still knew something, I envisioned the old space, right next to the Earthen Jar, and directed our vehicle accordingly.. but as we approached the former locale, made "WTF" faces, saw that "new location" sign, we then took a short jaunt around the corner. Shit got seriously real, my heart got warm. Time marches on, you know? What was once a wee, deep-n-narrow eatery got a serious upgrade in space/presentation. In those 12-13 years, little has changed. The folks working there are still friendly and cool, students/families/old timers alike are chatterboxing and noshing on fresh, delicious food.. but now I'm in the mix, m'lady and tiny lady in tow, and reveling in the feels, introducing a new generation to a staple from my own youth.

My favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor. Healthy, fresh, cheap, delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but some of my favorites are falafel sandwich with hummus and fattoush vegetables, the chicken with fattoush plate, and the shish kabob sandwich. Their new location has much more space for both dine in and take out. You can easily get a comfortable table now for a party of any size, even though they're busier than ever.

WHAT I LIKED The new location looks really hip, has a lot of room, and seating for larger groups. Friendly, patient waiter. Same great food: Inexpensive. Healthy ingredients. Don't change a thing! I love the vibrant green color of the falafel - lots of parsley. WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE Too noisy for a conversation with my mom. If you are even a tiny bit hard of hearing, this is a place to eat, and not talk. Maybe I'll try carryout next time.

Jerusalem Garden is a favorite for many in Ann Arbor because it offers very clean (gluten-free, etc.) and fresh Mediterranean food. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan as I usually end up still hungry after a meal. Unlike other Mediterranean restaurants like Oasis and Palm Palace, the food is less greasy and is more reasonably priced. The yogurt sauce is more watery than thick but still is very flavorful. If you are looking for a heavier meal, check out other places - however, Jerusalem Garden is definitely worth checking out for friendly staff and fresh tasting food.

Literally one of my favorite locations in A2. The new restaurant is so beautiful. The food is still delicious. This is a must eat place in Ann Arbor! Eat here! You can get a delicious meal for about $10. What's good: shawarma plate, kafta, hummus, falafel, rice, meat pie, spinach pie The workers are always super nice. I always come back!

Was a huge fan of JG at their previous location and this new incarnation is just as delicious but with a better space. The food is still fantastic. Nothing has changed there. I had the chicken shawarma with hummus and fattoush. The chicken was juicy, the hummus had a bit of a kick, and the fattoush was fresh and flavorful. A relief to know that nothing has changed in the move. The space is a real winner. The previous place was very tiny and cramped but you stuck it out because the food was SO SO good. This new location is clean, bright, and provides plenty of elbow room. It now provides the best of both worlds--tasty eats in a comfortable environment. I'll definitely be dining in more often vs. previous take out adventures thanks to this shiny new location!

Their new location is super nice but it kinda lost some of it's charm. I went when it first opened and didn't know what to do when i walked in. There was no one to greet us and such. When we were finally seated it didn't have the same atmosphere it was a little more difficult to talk to the person since it was louder but still nice. I got the chicken shwarma hummus plate. The portions are a real good size. If I eat half I'll be ate a good place but if I eat the whole thing I'll be super full but still super happy. The hummus is Superb. The chicken is cooked really well and the rice just ties everything together. The pistachio baklava was the perfect end to the meal. I finished it way too quickly and wished I had another piece. I would definitely recommend this place. ALSO the falafel is SOO GOOD! I've never seen falafel so green. Lol

The food was delicious! I ordered the beef shish kabob plays and like my meat done medium to medium well and this place nailed it! Many other restaurants I've been too have yet to be able to accomplish this no matter how many times I tell them how I like the meat cooked. Service was fine. The servers seemed a bit scattered and sometimes forgetful, but overall very friendly. A great place to dine! Highly recommended

First of all... I love everyone that works here. They're all beautiful people. This is a very good place to eat if you are trying to bulk up and eat clean simultaneously. Lots of good protein, beneficial fats and healthy carbs. Alsooo the falafel here is crack. Definitely best falafel in Ann Arbor, but I recommend everything on the menu. I have to be on my feet all day for my job and I also work out a lot so this place provides me the energy to keep going. If I didn't have this place I'd probably have no energy and die from being malnourished. Somehow I feel like the service is even better than the food. They make all the food super fast and keep you happy, even when it's super busy. Summary: Try everything on the menu. Sit at the counter. Smoke a fat j before you enter.

Same quality food, new spacious location. Jerusalem garden always hits the spot, whether you're looking for a quick bite or a sit down meal. The new location is bright, clean, and spacious...everything the old place wasn't. While some people might miss the charm of the old place, the new location more than makes up for it in roominess. No more long waits for tables in a cramped space! The best part of the restaurant hasn't changed, and that's the food. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the falafel is easily the best in Ann Arbor. Portions are reasonable and the staff is friendly. This is one of my favorite spots.

As patrons of this restaurant's former location, my lunch partner and I decided to visit the new location in the old Seva site. Upon entering on a cane, the greeter told us that the table most suited to my needs (a four seater by the window) was not for us, a party of two. Instead the same four seater table by the entrance would be our only option she said. I insisted that both tables seemed identical. The greeter took us back to the window table with a sharp eye roll and a scoffing "ok." Then Alex our server arrived, ready to take our orders and explain the menu options. Time: 12:20. One soup arrived along with the drinks. It was velvety smooth and delicious. By 12:50 our simple orders of falafel and chicken shawarma salad had not arrived. Here's the kick: the four seater next to us arrived at 12:35 and were finishing their salads as we left. I mentioned to Alex that we needed to leave. He shrugged and said sorry. What happened here? Did we get purposefully slowed down because of the short haired greeter? Was the kitchen totally out of control? Was our food getting dark under the lamps at the pass? All I know is...what a shame. They lost me and everyone I know.

I have been a big fan of Jerusalem Garden since moving here in 2011. Their food is quite tasty and reasonably priced. When they changed locations and updated their menu, they added "gluten-free" around various items THAT DO CONTAIN GLUTEN. Specifically, I was told that the chicken and beef are marinated in an italian dressing that contains gluten. This is very disappointing as I have dined here multiple times, alerted the server to my allergy, and then spent days wondering where/when I got gluten poisoned. Buyer beware if you have a gluten allergy! Also, if management should spot this, please consider updating your menu to accurately reflect the state of allergens in your foods!

I was always a fan of Jerusalem Garden and for good reason. They might possibly make the best hummus and vegan grape leaves in Ann Arbor! As for the lentil soup, it's some of the best that I've had, and I've eaten lentil soup at a lot of middle eastern restaurants, but I don't know if it's the absolute best ever, but it's pretty dang close. Whenever I crave Middle Eastern food when I come back to Ann Arbor, this is and has always been the place. Granted, the original space was tiny and nothing to rave about in terms of its location, but the food has always been consistent and pretty darn inexpensive for being in Ann Arbor. The newer location is a considerable upgrade, attractive and spacious. Service is what it is, just average. Prices are bargain basement low for authentic middle eastern food in a fairly expensive city when it comes to restaurants.

I have eaten here twice at their new location. I have found JG a good value with some pretty healthy food. However, the service today was really bad. The food when it finally came was good, but service terrible. I wondered if the waitress was on something. She forgot my order, and when others were served and the kitchen server said that there wasn't anything else on the ticket, our waitress re-visited our table and I mentioned this. She went and ordered it then, and did apologize, said it was her fault. About 15 or so minutes later when two colleagues were about held done, my chicken schwarma arrived. When she went to clear the table, she toppled my water glass and water spilled all over my books, and off the table on to my slacks. We all were papering-over the accident, mopping it all up, and she apologized and after mucho napkins and a towel brought by another, the clean-up was pretty well completed. Then, when the bill came, there was a bantering with one of the other people in our party where she asked him to "cut her a break" and sort of insulted him in a pleasant sort of way. I would have anticipated with wet pants that maybe somebody would have offered a discount or a free dessert or some sort of compensation, but no such graciousness. I found the service poor and attitude not what I'd expect form a local spot. They need to become a little more customer-oriented.

It has literally been years since I had falafel this good. We got a falafel plate and a falafel sandwich with yogurt and cucumber. It was awesome and warm and just super, super delicious. I also had the rice pilaf, which is sooo good and just buttery enough. Their new space is really big, which is great, because I'm sure while classes are in session, it can get packed. If I'm ever in Ann Arbor again, you can bet I'm coming here. We're only here for the day, but I kind of want to drop by tomorrow to get something to go. Also PS: Google searching for them gives the old address. They're firmly on Liberty Street now, rather than at the corner.

Nice new building. Very good service. The food was okay, but not very flavorful or Middle Eastern. The chicken shawarma was a cooked and sliced chicken breast, not cooked on a spit and shaved. The rice is yellow with little flavor. The hummus was good. The bread was prepared earlier; not super hot and fresh. They do not have fresh juices.

Wonderfully good falafel. Texture, spice, taste. Best I've had in years. 100% recommended.

Quite cafe style setting. Service was good. The food was very fresh and hot when it arrived at the table. We had several different items since we were unfamiliar with the establishment. The hummus was really good but loaded with fresh garlic which made it a bit over powering The best spinach pie I have ever had. The pilaf was really nice a well. The meat pies also were delicious. The chicken swarma was a bit dry but other than that pretty good. Over all a nice quiet place to have lunch at about $12 a plate.

The food is incomparable in AA over the years. It falafel for instance, has been the same for over 25 years; The new place looks more diner like; you can tell the owner invested a lot into the decor, but in my opinion it lost the charm of the original place-which was more reminiscent of the middle east: tightly packed rooms, rustic stucco wall, outdated prints and maps, greasy counters. I would still like to take friends there for a meal, but only for the food.
